Assistant professor in condensed matter physics.
The subject of this tenure track position is condensed matter physics, focusing on experimental and/or theoretical approaches to discovering, characterizing, and understanding quantum materials with potential applications in sustainable future technologies.
The assistant professor is expected to conduct research at a high international level and develop an independent research group. The candidate is expected to collaborate with local condensed matter physicists at AlbaNova in Stockholm, enhancing and extending the existing research focus on quantum matter with potential for future sustainable technology. The duties include supervision of doctoral students, research administration, applying for funding, and contributing to the education of future scientists and engineers in physics. The assistant professor is expected to be able to teach in Swedish within four years. If necessary, a language plan will be established as support in connection with the appointment.
The assistant professor will be given opportunity to develop independence as researcher and gain accreditation that may allow them to assume other teaching positions with higher eligibility requirements (see Chapter 4, Section 12 a of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance). The assistant professor is eligible to apply for promotion to associate professor in accordance with Chapter 4, Section 12 c of the Higher Education Ordinance.
An individual who has completed a doctorate or equivalent scientific competence is qualified for appointment as an assistant professor. Candidates who have met these qualifications within seven years prior to the application deadline will be prioritized. Other candidates may also be considered if there are particular reasons. Such reasons refer to illness, parental leave or similar circumstances.
