KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to conduct experimental research at the Light and Matter Physics research unit. In your research, you will be part of a strong research group that studies, at the atomic level, chemical and structural processes on active catalyst surfaces. The structure and activity of transition metal oxide surfaces will be of particular importance. Your research project will involve technicians working at ultra-high vacuum (UHV) as well as technicians at atmospheric pressure. This is to bridge the gap between conventional UHV surface studies and applied catalysis. The research project will conduct studies both at large-scale infrastructure (e.g. MAX IV) and at our local laboratories at KTH. More specifically, techniques such as scanning tunneling microscope (STM), synchrotron light-based photoelectron spectroscopy (PES, both at UHV and at atmospheric pressure) and X-ray absorption (especially NEXAFS) are central to the project.

What we offer

  • A position at a leading technical university that generates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future.
  • Engaged and ambitious colleagues along with a creative, international and dynamic working environment
  • Work in Stockholm , in close proximity to nature
