Third-cycle subject: Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering”, subject “Sustainability studies”.
Environmental sustainability requires both efficiency – reducing impact per level of consumption – and sufficiency: living well with less.
This project aims to apply and develop the new method Sufficiency-LCA, which, unlike conventional LCA, enables meaningful assessment of sufficiency. A central aim is to explore how consumption can be reduced without compromising – and possibly even improving – happiness and well-being.
It combines empirical studies with methodological development, generating knowledge on how people can live well with lower environmental impact and advancing a method that fills a gap in both research and practice.
The doctoral student will develop a unique competence at the intersection of sustainability and happiness research. We are looking for a candidate with experience in LCA or environmental psychology and the ability to work interdisciplinarily across environmental and social sciences.
The position may include up to 20% departmental duties.
