School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH

Project description

Third-cycle subject: Biotechnology

We are looking for a motivated doctoral student interested in working at the interface of epigenetics and method development. The project will focus on developing two innovative techniques to map complex enhancer-promoter interactions. These approaches will enable mapping of multi-agent gene regulation at single-complex resolution and at a spatial level.

The doctoral student will perform experimental work including ChIP, droplet-based DNA barcoding, microscopy, cell culture and epigenetic CRISPR. The doctoral student will also work together bioinformaticians for the analyses of multimodal datasets.

The Regulatory Genomics Lab and department of Gene Technology at SciLifeLab/KTH offers a creative and supportive environment with strong expertise in 3D genomics and genome medicine. We closely collaborate with national and international partners and provide access to state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technologies and a broad network of experts in biotechnology and computational biology. As a doctoral student at the department, you will join an engaged and inclusive environment where you are encouraged to develop new ideas and given excellent opportunities for further training and career development.

Supervision: Pelin Sahlén is proposed to supervise the doctoral student. Decisions are made on admission
