The research group headed by Emma Lundberg is connected to KTH and located at SciLifeLab in Stockholm. Our research is focused on cell biology, spatial proteiomics and machine learning for bioimage analysis. The aim is to understand how human proteins are distributed in time and space, how this affects various cellular processes, and how changes in protein localization may contribute to disease processes.
The group is responsible for the subcellular part of the Human Protein Atlas (HPA); a large research program based in Sweden that been systematically mapping the localization of human proteins in cells, tissues and organs during the past 20 years. For this project, we map the subcellular distribution of human proteins in cell lines using immunofluorescence (ICC-IF) and confocal microscopy. The research group is also applying the latest methods for highly multiplexed immunostaining of cells and tissues, and develops various tools for bioimage analysis, mostly using machine learning and AI-based models.
As a postdoc you will conduct research using various methods in cell-and molecular biology, but mainly cell culture, immunostaining od cells and tissues, confocal microscopy, and bioimage analysis. You will be involved in setting up a protocol for automated optical pooled screening (OPS) in the research group and use this method in your own research project. This project will revolve around the expression and distribution of metabolic enzymes, in close collaboration with the HPA team.
We are looking for someone with good collaborative- and communicational skills. At the same time, we prefer that you can work independently and take initiative. As a person, you are thorough and skilled in documenting your work accordingly, with an analytical mindset.
