Job description

We seek a motivated research engineer with documented experience in virology and analysis of genome regulation. In this position, you will characterise cellular responses against pathogens, analyse how viruses hijack cellular processes, and track in high precision RNA synthesis in virus and the host. You are responsible for culturing virus infected human cells in BSL2 and BSL3 laboratory environements, extract protein, DNA, and RNA, and prepare sequencing libraries. You will also be involved in data analysis and in developing novel molecular tools to uncover mechanisms of genome regulation in host and virus.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 
  • MSc degree on Biosciences, such as Cell Biology, Molecular or Virology.
  • Broad laboratory experience with cell and molecular methods.
  • Documented experience with culturing virus infected cells in BSL3 laboratory
  • Documented experience with analysing nascent RNA
  • Documented experience with preparation of sequencing libraries
