We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary research group in AI and machine learning for surgical patients. The project focuses on early prediction of complications using patient characteristics and high-frequency patient data from surgery. You will work at the forefront of applied machine learning and signal processing in clinical research, addressing key aspects such as explainable, transparent and well-calibrated AI models that can express uncertainty in predictions and detect changes over time (drift).
The project is anchored in an interdisciplinary environment where KTH collaborates with clinicians at Karolinska University Hospital in complex surgery for high-risk patients. You will work closely with experts in anesthesia and machine learning.
Your main responsibilities will include designing, developing the necessary software for, and conducting experiments on retrospective patient data, including high-resolution waveform data from patient monitors, from Karolinska or equivalent open data sources. You are also expected to contribute to the development and implementation of experimental machine learning methods, as well as supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
