School of Industrial Engineering and Management at KTH

Project description

Third-cycle subject: Machine Design

Embedded Control Systems (ECS) constitutes a key enabling technology behind cyber-physical systems like autonomous vehicles and smart production systems. With this project, new methods will be developed to support the situation-awareness and self-management capabilities of advanced cyber-physical systems with complex stochastic dynamic behaviors. The research seeks to combine data scientific and artificial intelligence based functionalities with model-based systems engineering, formal methods, embedded software and hardware. One particular application area is the control of safety for automated-driving vehicles, for which a new generation of smart and innovative solutions will be enabled for effective real-time operation monitoring and risk mitigation.

Supervision: The doctoral student will be supervised by: Docent, Associate Professor Dejiu Chen.
