Job description

We are looking for postdoctoral fellows to work on development of methods for safety analysis of small modular reactors (SMRs). The work includes analysis of reliability of passive safety systems and analysis of severe accidents and their consequences in SMRs. The work will have significant impact on the adoption of SMR technology in Sweden. It is a part of large collaborative projects in Europe and national projects supported by Swedish nuclear regulator (SSM).

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Doctoral degree in nuclear engineering, engineering mechanics or similar, with experience in reactor thermal hydraulics, severe accident, research and safety analyses.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Knowledge and experience of using reactor thermohydraulics and severe accident codes.
  • Good communication and collaborative skills, capability to work in a team and independently.
  • Motivation and dedication to research work is a very strong merit.
  • Teaching experience is an advantage.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
