Job description

The main task is to undertake research. Teaching, supervision and administration could be included depending on candidate’s competence and preferences. Higher Education Organization Studies (HEOS) is an interdisciplinary group studying the preconditions for education and learning as well as other academic activities. The topics include but are not limited to higher education and research policy development and implementation; institutional governance; organizational change, identity and culture; academic leadership, management and work; higher education institutions’ relations to state, society and external stakeholders. Special attention is paid to higher technical education. The advertised position will be linked to ongoing projects in one of these areas. Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
• We prefer that you have research expertise as well as ability to apply qualitative and quantitative methods
• Experience from working with social science and educational science theories and concepts 
• As a person you have teaching abilities, collaborative abilities and ability to perform work independently.
• We also prefer that you have awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, three years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
