KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Department information

The department of Health Informatics and Logistics is a part of KTH´s school in chemistry, biotechology and health. The department developes (software-based) modelling and simulation of processes in health care and other complex systems. The researchgroup is leading in the application of a mixed-methods approach for simulations in truly complex adaptive systems, particularly with involvement of experts and users in the simulations.

The postdoc will contribute to high-quality research and its connections to high-quality education by engaging in the practical work of two external grants where the research questions resolve around the consequences of putting sensors on frail people and infrastructures for system-level outcomes on health, costs, and operational processes.

Job description

The postdoc participates in the ongoing research in the department and takes responsibility for the development and application of simulation, gaming and sensor-management methods in ongoing research projects, both in Sweden and at the EU level.

The postdoc is expected to publish in collaboration with other member of the research group about the results, and to take a leading role in the evaluation of application of methods. Depending on the specific background and interests, programming of simulation environments can be part of the tasks.

The postdoc is expected to support thesis projects of students as organized by the department.

The postdoc explicitly includes cross-disciplinary collaboration and active participation with other stakeholders in the research projects to which the postdoc will be assigned. Contributions to intermediate and end reporting of projects are part of the job.
