Project description
Third-cycle subject: Energy Technology; Energy Engineering
The division of Energy Systems Analysis (dESA) at KTH was established in 2011 with a commitment to contribute to open accessible science. The division’s goal ever since was to not only develop self-capacity but also get a broader community engaged. dESA aims at employing academic developments to inform smarter management of our planet, people and transitions from poverty to prosperity as in all of these, we believe, energy systems play a critical role. The division has primarily been involved in the development and application of quantitative models used to answer difficult policy and investment questions in the energy field. In this process, inter-linkages that influence trade-offs and synergies across the economic, social and environmental dimensions need to be identified and included. The research areas of the division spread through a) Energy Systems Model Development and Application b) Strategic policies and investment c) Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL)and c) CLEWs - Climate, Land, Energy and Water strategies to navigate the nexus.
This position is expected to contribute to research development in the field of Energy Systems Modeling through participation in ongoing projects but also by establishing new relevant projects.
