Job description

The unit for Energy and Climate Studies at the Department of Energy Technology is looking for a research engineer with interdisciplinary competence for work in policy-related projects. Examples of such projects could be energy efficiency, decentralization of renewable energy, etc.

In the position, you will work from a system perspective with focus on energy and climate policy. You will contribute to projects related to sustainable energy systems, preferably in Sweden and Europe, which are often interdisciplinary (eg energy policy linked to transport policy) and related to climate policy. You will contribute to research on ongoing projects, as well as preparation for new projects and applications. Furthermore, you will share these research results at various seminars, publish in peer-review journals, and support the department in both educational and administrative tasks.

The position is suitable for a candidate who is analytical, and has experience of energy-related issues. It is important that you are motivated to work in an interdisciplinary and international academic environment. 

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you have a M.Sc. degree in Engineering or another relevant area. You also have very good knowledge of English, speaking and writing.

Documented research experience is highly meritorious for the position, as well as special knowledge of the Swedish policy context. Experience of work in EU is an advantage. Knowledge in Swedish is very meritorious.

We are looking for a person with genuine interest in energy policy issues, with good ability to work both quantitatively and qualitatively. Because you will have system focus, you have a system thinking that will make you successful in the position. Furthermore, you are analytical, structured and proactive in your work. You are good at cooperating and are pedagogical in your performance.
