Job description

Lead research projects about the effect of optical errors on quality of vision in the central and peripheral visual field, which includes: Update an adaptive optics system; Program psychophysical routines; Recruit subjects; Perform measurements and analysis of the relationship between image quality and vision; Supervise project students and PhD students; Summarize and present research results.

Qualifications

The applicant should have a Master degree in optometry or similar, followed by a PhD in visual optics. Experience as a clinical optometrist and research in a similar field after the PhD are also of merit.

The applicant should have previous experience of the following: Measurement of the ocular aberrations in subjects with normal as well as reduced vision; Analysis of retinal image quality in the central and peripheral field of view; Construction of adaptive optics systems; Vision evaluation; Eye health examination; Programming of psychophysical routines.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
