Project description

Third-cycle subject: Energy Technology

The Department of Energy Technology focuses on research and teaching with the goal of contributing to sustainable energy systems. The department has three divisions with research areas with both technical and multidisciplinary character. The department’s personnel and students come from all over the world and contribute to an extremely international environment. The candidate will work in a new project aiming at development and design of a novel heat pump for single family dwellings. The main goal of the development and design is efficiency and robustness of operation.
The work may be divided into four main tasks:
1. Survey of relevant publications related to models and experimental work of similar concepts as in the intended heat pump.
2. Experimental evaluation of suggested designs.
3. Modelling of the systems and systems control.
4. Evaluation of system design and suggest improvements. The result will be reported in trade magazines and scientific journals.
The project will be limited towards a licentiate engineering degree.
In addition to the project, the applicant will also be involved in other activities of the department, such as being a teaching assistant.

Supervision: The doctoral student will be supervised by Joachim Claesson
