Building Technology, Energy and Indoor Climate with a focus on Fluid and Climate Theory
The subject focuses on a resource-efficient and sustainable society. Buildings and their indoor environment are complex domains of fundamental importance to engineering and science, including design engineering, applied physics, fluid mechanics, aerosol engineering, indoor air quality and thermal comfort. Research in the field includes simulations of flow dynamics (numerical modeling) of built environments, energy use and thermal transport in buildings, ventilation, thermal comfort and optimization of energy and climate systems. The proposed specialization focuses on improving the quality of indoor air with a focus on building ventilation, clean rooms (pharmaceutical, food and electronics industries) as well as operating rooms and laboratory environments. In the future, hospital ventilation and clean rooms continue to be of great interest, as are various climate-related issues.
