School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH

Job description

Hydrogen is expected to be a key component in a future fossil-free society in sectors of energy, transportation and industrial production of chemicals and materials. The research centre PUSH (Production, Use and Storage of Hydrogen) addresses scientific and technical hurdles impeding the widespread use of hydrogen, by combining activities on production, storage, distribution and use of hydrogen, in a single coordinated research effort. Researchers at KTH, Lund University, Umeå University, Chalmers University of Technology and at the institute RISE will lead this challenging work.

A postdoctoral position is available to study the kinetics and dynamics of catalytic dehydrogenation reactions of liquid organic hydrogen carriers using the newly developed Near-Ambient Pressure Velocity Map Imaging technique developed at KTH

The post holder will work closely with Dan Harding and other members of the research group and will be expected to display the initiative and creativity, together with the appropriate skills and knowledge, required to lead and develop the experiment to meet the project goals.

The post holder is therefore expected to have experience and familiarity with the techniques used in the study of chemical dynamics and kinetics, including experimental expertise in vacuum and laser systems as well as strong data analysis and simulation skills. The post holder is expected to be able to work effectively both as part of a small research team and independently, and to aid in the supervision of graduate students within the group.
