School of Architecture and Built Environment at KTH

Job description

The appointee will collaborate in developing a framework for spatial and temporal evaluation of forest resilience under future changes in hydro-climate and increasing frequency, severity, and duration of ecological droughts while taking into all pertinent aspects (e.g., social, political, environmental). This framework will facilitate the identification of areas within forests that are most vulnerable to degradation and will provide information on strategies to enhance their resilience. The proposed framework will be implemented in case studies to investigate the current status of different forest ecosystems and the potential outcomes of different management scenarios that aim at enhancing the resilience.  It is essential for the applicant to have solid theoretical and applied background in resilience concepts, Multi-criteria-decision-making (MCDM) approaches, and group decision-making frameworks.

The candidate is expected to contribute to the production of high-quality scientific papers, suitable for publication in high profile journals and presentations at national and international conferences.
